WISDOM FROM A FRIEND
We have councellors and professional listeners because we instinctively know not discussing it is not an option and that is very true. Do you know why we balk at going to such 'healers and helpers' because for those of us who have journeyed down that road we know that at the end we discover there is no help- at least not in the 'helping' professions at least - that can do in a heart only what God can do. We balk at going to God because we fear the 'unknown' - all we know is our fear and pain and wounds and sin and guilt and shame and blame and nastiness toward the people we love and and and and...my point, as badass as the therapy, childhood wound healing world is, when we are in the place of such inner absorbtion we stay there treading the same old ground because although we want and long to be free we hold back...who will we be with our burdens carried by God and God alone? Who would we be to be so free? It is beyond the imagining of our self focused darkness.
Yet this is only a stage in the dance and a necessary part of the story He is telling. When we come to Him to finally take the burden this sin broken world has laid upon us, then and only then, do we see and hear and become the children of Love that we are. Free in the knowledge of The Son of God and who we are when we look into His eyes.
We may think He hasn't healed us or taken the shattered pieces of our old hearts yet it is always darkest before the dawn.
