GOD OF LOVE

God is in ordinary life. He meets us here with extraordinary grace.
I want to see God. I need to see Him. I’ve seen Him in pink and orange sunsets and foamy, crashing waves. But a long time ago, I asked Him for something more personal: a just-for-me glimpse of His omnipresence in my life. He, more than anyone else, understands what we love and appreciate as unique souls in this world. He wired us, put us together with specific passions, and designed us for divine purposes.
I love the Eastern Bluebird, so for me, this vibrantly colored feathered friend became my ‘glimpse’—
a smile, an assurance, a sweet reminder that our extraordinary God breathes life into the ordinary, sometimes difficult days. But they are an elusive, if not impossible sight in the urban setting I now call home. Circumstances have brought me to a place where bluebirds don’t settle, and rarely, if ever, visit.
In really tough times, many days can feel void of God’s presence. We can be ‘forgetful’ of the subtle yet very personal gifts and glimpses God has given us in the past. And it was a cold day, with winter on the ground, when I found myself guilty of forgetting…the bluebird flitting in front of my car, seemingly out of nowhere (God is thinking of me)…the bluebird on a fence post, his colors blurred through tear-filled eyes (God is here). But God decided in His beautiful and overwhelming grace to send a reminder. Outside my office window, on the branch of a barren tree, I saw blue. I stood up, still not believing. That’s when I spotted another bluebird in the brush behind the tree—and nearby, four more.
This is our God. Not a single bluebird, but six. In the middle of winter came an impossible gift from a personal God…and He multiplied it by the pain of the season I was in. Through tears mixed with humility and joy, I knew what God was saying—this is the measure of things to come. I am with you, close to your broken heart, in touch with your shattered soul.
You are never alone. You are never ignored. God is paying close attention to everything that concerns you…the sad, the happy, and every moment in between. Today there are glimpses of His love sent just for you—and I hope you see every one of them.

SACRED PLACE

Sometimes it helps to go to the sacred places of this Earth. There is a lot of peace and energy there to fill you up and restore you. Go there in person, or if you cannot, in your imagination. When you get there, miracles do happen.

WORRY OR FAITH

Contrary to what some may believe, worry is not a harmless emotion you can afford to entertain in your life. Worry is a form of fear that will subtly find its way into your mind, will, and emotions, causing you to make decisions that are not faith-based.

FEAR OR LOVE

Walk in love toward others so the love of God can drive fear out of your heart and mind. When you operate from a position of love, selfishness is destroyed and fear has nothing to stand on.

WISDOM FROM A FRIEND

We have councellors and professional listeners because we instinctively know not discussing it is not an option and that is very true. Do you know why we balk at going to such 'healers and helpers' because for those of us who have journeyed down that road we know that at the end we discover there is no help‎- at least not in the 'helping' professions at least - that can do in a heart only what God can do. We balk at going to God because we fear the 'unknown' - all we know is our fear and pain and wounds and sin and guilt and shame and blame and nastiness toward the people we love and and and and...my point, as badass as the therapy, childhood wound healing world is, when we are in the place of such inner absorbtion we stay there treading the same old ground because although we want and long to be free we hold back...who will we be with our burdens carried by God and God alone? Who would we be to be so free? It is beyond the imagining of our self focused darkness.

Yet this is only a stage in the dance and a necessary part of the story He is telling. When we come to Him to finally take the burden this sin broken world has laid upon us, then and only then, do we see and hear and become the children of Love that we are. Free in the knowledge of The Son of God and who we are when we look into His eyes.

We may think He hasn't healed us or taken the shattered pieces of our old hearts yet it is always darkest before the dawn.

    MAN

    ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD!

    Someone stated to me"everything happens for a reason, right".I think this statement we use to try to be ok w/the decisions man made against us. It isnt that everything happens for a reason, it IS that when evil is meant to be done to us, God turns it around for His glory (Gen. 50:20).

    God did NOT pick and chose who would go through this or that but rather when we did (&yes He knew, thats why He has always given us a way out)He would turn the devils plan of destruction, into beauty. What the devil steals from ...us, WILL be returned. He IS a God of restoration and He hates what has been done against you, and He will turn our mourning into dancing, sorrow into joy. Oh how He loves us... He alone is our Knight in Shinning Armor!! Let Jesus sweep you off your feet!!~Tina T.~

    LOVE MUST EBB AND FLOW

    We are to guard our hearts...but no not to fortify them like a castle with barbed wire. Love must ebb and flow.
    When we guard our hearts too securely we keep ourselves from being hurt  YET that is only because we percieve hurt as a bad thing .   AHA Hurt is not a bad thing . Pain , Anguish, Hurt are opportunities to go deep into facing them and embracing them and come forth stronger and also more tender and with more understanding for others.  Keeping ourselves from being hurt also keeps ourselves from experiencing the deep intimacy that our souls are capable of.

    RELATIONSHIPS AND GARDENS

    Relationships are like Gardens:

    Flowers and Weeds inevitably try to grow in the soil:

    Weeds are the potential issues that arise; I have concluded three ways that people deal with these weeds from observation of all the people I know dealing with relationships and my own experiences:




    A: They are so busy focussing on the flowers that they ignore the weeds and some years down the road the weeds have overtaken the garden ... and they are too overwhelmed to deal with it they just stay looking at an ugly garden (staying in ...an unhappy relationship)

    B) They are so busy focussing on the flowers and ignoring the weeds that years down the road when the weeds have become so bad they go outl ooking for a better garden (they leave the relationship)

    C) Then there are those (like myself) who try to deal with the weeds when the roots are small and pull them out as they come up.... and if that means that the other peron doesnt want to deal .....I can not just stay watching the roots take a strong hold over time or I will become like A and B ... and it will be over anyhow.

    Weeds WILL COME.... Either they will consume your garden...or you will pull them out!

    STRONG ARMS

     I need some arms to cry in, no need to say a word.
    Its not that anythings wrong per say.


    Just want to fold and crumble at least one day a weak,
    To not be strong , take on the world, and rising to my feet.

    My job was to light the path for travellers and pilgrims who had lost their way. But each time they passed I went unnoticed, overlooked. ….and as with any flame without attention… we do go out. Remember those who have shone brightly for you…for one day they will be no more.

    I shone brightly at first, that first glorious night they put me out to light the way . I symbolised the way home. Inside the voices could be heard, merriment and cheer, glasses clinking, the fire crackling. And at least for me your struggle gave me a moment I will never forget.  An opportunity for giving. And which has been shared by me and encouraged many you don’t even know. I believe Paul the apostle wrote words to the effect ” I am in lack, not because I need to be, but so that the givers may be blessed” “The circle of life.”  Some things we may never understand with our intellect… as in how our lives have touched the souls of many.     THE WIDOWS CALLING

    The Widows Calling
    " and Jesus sat near the treasury and many that were rich cast in much, and there came a certain poor widow and she threw in two mites, and he called his disciples and said .... " This poor widow cast in more than all of they, .... for they cast in of there abundance..and she of her want did cast in all that she had.... even all her living.   Mark 12: 42.......


    God desires us to be free of guilt and shame, busyness and works, keeping up with anyone or anything. We need to be resting at the feet of Jesus, accepting and embracing each season he puts us in. This can oten be a most humbling test as he will often put you poor among the wealthy , lowly among the proud, or sick amongst the well.
    This is to try you and prove you, whether you will serve man, mammon , image , pride, or whether like the widow you will give your all.
    There are few of the widows. It is a high calling. The widows calling is a life of sacrifice...and by embracing it you will lose credit in the eyes of the world...but it pays big dividends in the eyes of God.
    Many Christians want the best of both worlds...... one foot in the world and one in the Kingdom...but we were called to forsake all.   I choose to be like the widow....which can be done only by the grace of God.

     All of that is what makes up me!

    At the nearest casino.

    You can’t hear yourself think,
    So you turn your attention to the screen.
    The words appear larger than life,
    Demanding your attention.

    Everyone is clapping,

    The production is magnificent,
    Nothing is out of place.

    Then the young hip guy
    Comes up for the offering.
    It’s time for the special,
    The big production number.

    While they pass the bucket
    You think the only things missing
    Are dry ice fog,
    Lasers and dancing girls.

    Our star attraction’s not here today,
    So turn your attention to the screen.
    You’ll get the word delivered
    In glorious high definition.

    You wonder why you brought a Bible
    Because you don’t really need it.
    The two verses you need
    Are projected on the screen.

    This guy’s really good, you think.
    He should be hosting a daytime talk show.
    His material is tailored
    For people who need to be directed.

    All around the crowd is hushed
    Taking notes, visibly moved
    And then they play the music
    And dim the lights.

    It’s a picture-perfect ending,
    Like all the ones you’ve seen before.
    You’ve seen it all before.
    You know too much.

    You want to break the script.
    You want to slash the screen.

    CHRISTIANITY/CHURCHIANITY

    The Christian merry-go-round was quite an adventure but my more recent goal has been to get off and go enjoy the rest of the playground. I’ve been “Thru the Bible,” through the church membership program and even through the process of tearing down my idol of a religion. I can now take what I’ve learned and apply it to a broader spectrum of life.. God might be too big to squeeze into a church building." !!


    Some times I have entered a church and realised I didnt feel the presence of God there at all ...it was at those times I said " Hey, If God is not gunna show up ...then why should I"? ..and a day in the neighbourhood was a much better option : )

    STRENGTH

    MORE ON LOVE

    Some people really dont get what Love is about .... most people dont really.  I think they just miss it ...Life that is . Its all about Love!!!!     Maybe I was created for some Illusionary world .???   Maybe I am just gullable and caught in some time warp of fairy tales and child hood dreams... but Im not letting go.... I Love to Love ...and thats all there is to it!

    LOVE

     People need to think about love and not throw it around like it was just a mushy word…. love is relational and communication, spiritual, horizontal and vertical…it ebbs and flows, we reap and we sow. What is relational love: Like a delicate lily held in open palms , nurtured, protected, safe, ….some throw it under foot to be trampled on by swine! Sadly why Jesus said ….don’t throw your pearl to swine lest they turn and trample it. Sad sad sad.


    Our hearts are very valuable and as we share them and open them to others, while we are trusting and relational and vulnerable and transparant….. some people DO throw us to the wolves. or “Swine” … or “Under a bus” …as the expressions go.
    Give not that which is holy(our Hearts) unto the dogs,(or Wolves) neither cast ye your pearls(your Love) before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
